Bathroom Reno!

A Relaxing New Bathroom!

This summer, we decided to renovate our bathroom! Also - just as a side note my before pictures were taken right before we painted which is why the walls are bare and have some white paint on them! We had the beach theme in mind when we first did our bathroom and the wonderful color scheme we had in mind did not go as planned...but the second time we nailed it! We also stuck to a tight budget during this project and I must say, I'm pretty happy we did because a few times we had to get creative and it turned out beautifully (at least in my opinion). We repainted our shelves as well as using some vases and other things we had lying around! So here are my photos...let me know what you think! I'd love to see your photos of your DIY rooms!

My two semi-okay before and after shots!

So here are some of the walls and the details. We painted one wall a darker blue, just in case people noticed that and thought the lighting was weird...it isn't! I also wanted to add in some close ups of the shelving and such, so that will be below as well as the beautiful Kate Spade shower curtain! I adore this shower curtain!

Fall Obsession

Fall has finally arrived!

And with it's wonderful arrival comes crunchy leaves, sweatshirts, pumpkins, overall happiness, and of course...candles! I love candles, I could have them burning 24/7 and be the happiest woman on earth. Fall is my absolute favorite season and it also happens to be my favorite candle season.

I love decorative candles, especially if they match the season/holiday, but being who I am I can never bring myself to burn the pretty decorative candle. I buy the majority of my regular candles at Bath & Body Works. I get the 3-wick candles which are normally $20...I know it's a steep price to pay for candles! They have the 2 for $20 candle sale fairly often, so that is when I do all my buying in order to save money and it makes me feel better when I come home with a bunch of them! So as this is the season of favorites, I thought I'd share mine....

It's very difficult only to pick 3, but I did it. Since not everyone is awesome at describing the smell of candles, Bath & Body Works graciously does the work for you on the bottom of every candle. So here are the lovely scents of fall!

Leaves - "Celebrate the brilliant colors of autumn with this rich blend of golden nectar, red apple, and spiced berries"

Pumpkin Caramel Latte  - "Gather with friends and celebrate the season with this rich, warm, blend of creamy pumpkin, spiced caramel and sweet cream"

Cider Lane - "As sweet as a trip to the local apple orchard each year, a delicious fall blend of mulled cider, warm caramel and sweet cinnamon"

What are your fall favorites? :)

A Simple Mudroom

I love reading home decor blogs and seeing the inspiration of others, so I thought why not get started by doing the same! Everyone needs a space to hang their coats, put away their keys, sort their mail, etc. The entry of a home is one of the most important spaces a family or person can have! I love organization, so that's a huge part of my life and home!
1. The dry erase board calendar. I love the dry erase calendar for the simple fact that anyone can use it and change it, it can be customized anytime which makes it perfect for an ever changing schedule.
2. The chevron fabric is modern yet neutral and perfect for the bench cushion. People don't always use these benches but for families with kids it is great for when it is time to put the shoes on!
3. Mail sorter galore! This is one of the biggest pet peeves of mine because my mother was not an organized mail sorter as I am and I love to have my mail sorted. I like this two slot one because if I have a busy night and don't have time to read the mail and sort it, I can just stick it in one slot and save it for the next day!
4. I love the two piece of the bench/hanging wall combo. There is a place for shoes in baskets underneath the bench and hooks for coats. Purses or bags can go above as well which is so nice for storage and not having everything laying around in chaos.
What does your simple mudroom look like? I love seeing others ideas and would love to hear yours!

Christmas Kindness

I am not ashamed to say I am a huge lover of Christmas! The holiday season is absolutely magical! This year,   I am going to be completing random acts of Christmas kindness to count down the 25 days of Christmas! I am SO excited! I wanted to share with you all my RACK'ED cards that will go along with all the acts! I made two, but I may only use one...not entirely sure yet!
Here they are:

Dressing up!

As any student, I know just how small these rooms can get! While I am not in a dorm and am in my own apartment, I do still have limited space to work with! My dresser back at home is huge, so what choice does a girl have other than to shop for a new one?! My momma and I went to Ikea to purchase my dresser, which I will show you soon! I wanted to be able to customize my dresser, so I just bought this simple unfinished one:
My momma decided to buy one too! Hers is still in the process of being made, but once she finishes, next time I go home, I'll be sure to snag a picture! I repainted our bathroom two summers ago a beautiful coral and had some leftover paint that I had re-shaken. Unfortunately I didn't get to take pictures of my process, but I will show you the end result! I used painters tape to design the drawers and printed out my initials in a monograph font for the top! The bottom of the dresser is a collection of black & white scrapbook paper (I used modpodge to cover those)!
Here is it:

Project Saturday

Hi all!
So for my first project Saturday, I decided to organize my nail polish! I just moved into my new place and I am so ready to organize! Step by step, I am going to start with little projects to make this my comfortable organized home as an on the go college girl!

This is what it looked like before...

Steps

1. I went through all of my polish and put them into 3 categories - high end, drug store, and designs.

2. Once I sorted it all, I got rid of a few colors that I no longer wanted! Once I was done, I picked my boxes, which I reused from products purchased at Target!

3. Once I had the boxes, I sorted all the polish by color!

Here's the end result! I put them on my shelf !
